Its been a week of updates! It started off with the notification from WordPress that WordPress 2.8 was available and that I should upgrade. OK then, I will. Especially now that you have the simple “upgrade automatically” option. Just click here and off she goes, and comes back as a nice new shiney WordPress 2.8 blog.

All those times earlier in the life of the blog that I had to download the .zip file, unzip it, open my ftp client and upload the new files. Its SO much easier to just click on a link!

So then I thought my upgrades were over, but I got another notification. A new version of my Fusion theme was available and that I should upgrade.

So I did. Themes have had automatic upgrade available for while, but the only thing is that it overwrites any modifications you may have done to your existing version. But in fairness, you are warned that it will do this. I am getting to grips with it the changes it brought and I will eventually re-add the Members menu from the list, at some stage.

I still have to put back in the ads it overwrote!

I seems like I am one of the few who have to work on Good Friday. :-( There was hardly any traffic on the roads this morning and the car park at work was virtually empty, only cars from our company seemed to be around. Even on the radio, the regulars were off for their extra-long weekend and the bank holiday replacements were in their places. All Government/civil service and bank employees and some lucky private sector workers have today off, but not me.

The Snapper by Roddy Doyle wil bring tears to your eyes you will laugh so much.

A1 Sharron!

I cannot believe this good weather, only 2 weeks ago it was snowing and now today the thermometer in the car tells me its 17 degrees.

Fingers crossed this weather will hold for the weekend.

And to anyone reading this from warmer climes, 17 in March, in Ireland is a big deal!

Is today National Tractor Day? Tractors played havoc with the traffic this morning. All the way from Killarney to Farranfore at 4okm/h, thank God the guy had to pull into Cetra to get himself a nice cup of tea, and allow the long queue of traffic that had built up behind him get passed. Where the hell where the Gardaí, surely this must come under “blocking the highway” or whatever?

But then I noticed that the same thing was happening on the Tralee side of Farranfore, but going in the opposite direction. Was there some kind of tractor conference on in Ulicks?

Just updated to version 2.7.1 and it was painless and harmless. Why was this automatic upgrade included in earlier versions – its a no-brainer.

Does anyone know what was included in this update? ‘spose I shudda checked it out before blindly doing what the sign said to do….

Now I have seen rubbish left here in the car park before, but this just takes the biscuit:

Its also not what I had intended when I said that I must post more photos!

Just a quick post to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2009.
