RTÉ has secured the rights to broadcast the second leg of Ireland’s World Cup play-off against France in Paris tomorrow night. RTÉ will broadcast the match on television, radio and online – within the Republic of Ireland.

The breakthrough came after days of negotiations between television companies and the French Football Federation.

The cost of the deal, which is non-exclusive, has not been disclosed.

The match will also be streamed live on RTE.ie/live within the Republic of Ireland.

Last Saturday’s first leg with France attracted a peak television audience of over 1.1 million viewers. An average of 858,000 viewers tuned in to RTÉ Two for the entire match from kick-off to final whistle with the audience peaking during the final minutes of the game.
