The blog is installed in /blogs/blogname. I want to be able to access the blog like blogname.domain.com and use that as the base url, rather than just a re-direct to the home page. Is there any resources online about how to do this?

The latest version for Wordpres, version 2.6.1 is now available to download from here. Also the full list of changes can be gotten from here. The main benefits will be for admin users in Hebrew or Farsi as 2.6.1 offers several improvements for international users. Styling of the admin for right-to-left languages is much improved thanks to the efforts of the Farsi and Hebrew translation teams, and a mysterious gettext bug caused by certain PHP configurations is now fixed. For IIS users, 2.6.1 fixes several permalink problems. Image insertion problems in the Press This feature experienced by IE users are also fixed. Of note to everyone is a fix for a performance bug in the admin where those with a lot of plugins would experience slowness on some pages.
A one euro coin has turned up in Spain bearing the face of cartoon couch potato Homer Simpson instead of that of the country’s king. Spanish sweet-shop owner Jose Martinez was counting the cash in his till in the city of Aviles when he came across the coin where Homer’s bald head, big eyes and big nose had replaced the serious features of King Juan Carlos.
‘The coin must have been done by a professional, the work is impressive,’ he said. So far, no other coins of the hapless, beer-swilling oaf have been found in circulation.
Has anyone else found a Homer Simpson euro coin?

The Irish Examiner did an interesting series this week past on Irish Regional Airports. This follows on comments from Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary that only Kerry and Donegal airports out of all our regional airports have a commercial future. I’d imagine comments like this one went down well in Farranfore and Carrickfinn. You can catch the write-up on Kerry Airpot on Kerry News Blog by clicking here.
The series also included Shannon and Cork airports and how they are likely to be both fighting for the coveted number 2 spot for passenger numbers behind Dublin Airport, which is ever unlikely to be surpassed as the number 1 airport in the country. The series can be found in the Irish Examiner Archives.
The BBC isn’t the only channel covering the Olympics in high definition, and Sky has reminded us that it is the best UK platform to watch exhaustive coverage of the Games, because it also carries Eurosport HD. The BBC will air coverage from 2am to 6pm each day on the BBC HD channel, while Eurosport HD will run from 2am to 5pm. Sky has also pointed out that the PVR functionality of its Sky HD box means viewers can enjoy the sporting action at a more convenient time if they can’t stay up through the night.
Following the end of digital terrestrial television (DTT) trials by the Irish Government today, Minister for Communications, Eamon Ryan said national rollout will begin in a little over a year – August 2009. What this means is that the traditional analogue television will be slowly phased out over the course of the next four years as we approach the switch-off deadline of 2012 and will be completely replaced with digital broadcasting.
