Paul Galvin has had his six month suspension reduced to three months following a meeting of temporary members appointed to the Central Hearings Committee last night. The ban is dated for the time of the incident (15 June), which means Galvin would be eligible for the All-Ireland final on September 21st should Kerry make it.

It has emerged that the Chinese authorities will not allow foreign reporters to have complete access to the Internet during the Beijing Olympics. Journalists say the development reverses an earlier pledge to remove China’s censorship firewall during the games, which begin on Friday week.

A spokesman for the Chinese organising committee said sites linked to the banned Falungong spiritual movement and other unspecified ones would remain blocked for foreign reporters covering the Games. The head of the International Olympic Committee’s press commission, Kevan Gosper, told reporters that he would take the matter up with the Chinese authorities.

Robbie Keane has completed the move to Liverpool, the club he has supported as a boy, admitting that it was a dream move for him. Keane said

I’ve been waiting for this day since I was a kid. I’m a massive fan, so to be sitting here in a Liverpool tracksuit is a dream come true, I am so grateful just to be here. I love the club and this is the one dream I had still to achieve. I always wanted to be a footballer as a kid, but also to play for Liverpool, maybe you never feel it is going to happen. Now I am enjoying every minute and I can’t wait to pull on that red shirt. This is a massive club and I want to do everything I can to make them even more successful.

Robbie Keane will play at Number 7, the shirt previously worn by such legends as Kenny Dalglish and Kevin Keegan

Just read on LidlTreats.com that they are going to try and beat the recession by living on €50 a week for all their food shopping, in Lidl

Here’s the scenario: your personal recession is REALLY biting, you are broke, broke, broke, the kitchen shelves are looking bare and it’s a whole 7 days till the next paycheck lands.

After allowing for absolute essentials like petrol or fares, rent or mortgage and a couple of drinks on Friday night, you have just €50 and some small change left. Between two of you.

So, can you feed two people for a week for around €50? And I mean feed two people well - not on cheapo pizza and stodge.

  • Embedded Safari for true previews of posts
  • Full tag and category support
  • Photo support for both camera pictures as well as library photos
  • Support for multiple blogs
  • Ability to password protect a post, save as a draft, or mark the post for later review
  • Auto-recovery. This will recover posts which have been interrupted by phone calls

The app is at version 1.0, is a tiny 0.3MB download, and is compatible with the iPhone as well as the iPod touch. However, this application requires the iPhone 2.0 software update.

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland has awarded the three national digital terrestrial television contracts to the Boxer DTT consortium. Boxer includes Communicorp and BT. Two other consortia had applied for the licences - Easy TV - involving RTE and UPC - and One Vision which includes TV3, Setanta and Eircom.

Nintendo has just revealed the sequel to Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort.

The follow-up takes place in a beach environment and uses the new Wii Motion Plus adaptor, so every movement of your wrist or arm is mimicked on screen by your player character. At its pre-E3 press conference NOA president Reggie Fils Aimes showed off a Jet Ski game in Resort, which is controlled with both Wii Remote (plus Motion Plus) and Nunchuk - just as if you were holding the throttle. Even more exciting is Sword Dueling, holding the Wii Remote with both hands - this is the 1:1 motion detection we imagined when the Wii was first announced. Exciting stuff!

It’s launching globally next Spring. More soon.

Nickelback Rockstar Spoof - Popstar

According to owner/author/uploader JamesAtWar this is NOT taking the piss out of Nickelback, but out of all the “celebrities” appearing in the video.
